During World War II,
Hollywood produced a series of movies to brief troops on the various conflicts they’d be entering, so they could better understand why they fought and served. It may not be the perfect metaphor, but it comes to mind as the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company ponders the community’s recent generosity.
Fire and rescue vVork is a big job, but one made much easier when individuals in a good community make it especially rewarding.
Response to the company’s annual appeal, which began late last year, broke records. The number of new donors and the level of individual gifts was extraordinary, heartening everyone in the department.
