From modest beginnings Five years ago as a joint project between the Extension Office and the Welfare Department, the 4-H day camp at Hazel River has grown to become THE summer event for an army of Rappahannock youngsters. This year 85 kids swarmed onto the Methodist Church grounds at Hazel River for Five days of summertime activity. Marie Davis and Martha Kidwell taught crafts. Stu Eiland and Kay DeLuise were instructors in canoeing. Wood, Tippy Jenkins, Jim Bankston and Irv Kenyon joined together to teach nature classes. Vinnie DeLuise, Lynne Baines and Elsie Gheen were swimming instructors.
