Kenner Love, Rappahannock County’s 4-H Extension Agent, said that in addition to getting children involved, his organization’s programs are “trying to teach kids responsibility. We’re trying to help them develop life skills they can use later on.”
Summer vacation in Rappahannock is here to stay, at least for now. School Superintendent Bob Chappell said that lack of air conditioned facilities makes the breaks a necessity.
Hilscher urged parents to keep their children active during the vacation and acknowledged, “It’s a challenge for parents to make it a productive time.”
