Third fatal
accident near
park since March

A 42-year-old Loudoun County motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in Rappahannock County in an accident on the twisting stretch of Route 211 that passes through Thornton Gap near the entrance to the Shenandoah National Park.
It was the third fatal motorcycle accident in that popular riding area since March.
It also wras the second motorcy cle accident there over the Memorial Day weekend and occurred less than a week after state and local police officials announced beefed-up law enforcement efforts on this stretch they call the motorcyclists’ “race track."
