Rappahannock News Photo/Ann Spieker FATALITY: Route 211 near Thornton Gap took another life over the Memorial Day weekend when a motorcycle driven by Loudoun County resident Craig L. Cooley, 42, of Aldie, Va., hit a van head-on Sunday while traveling in the oncoming lane around a sharp turn. The motorcycle bounced off the van, hit a guard rail, bounced back on the road and hit the rear of the van where it came to a stop by the roadside.

Va., Michael R. Dolan, 26, sustained serious hip and arm injuries Saturday after crashing his 2000 Honda CBRX into the guard rail about a mile down from Thornton Gap, near

the Shenandoah Park entrance

in Page County.

Dolan had exceeded the

speed limit and was charged

with reckless driving, according

to Sgt. Gary Settle of the state
