Lara Kreyling decided to join because she “wanted to try something new, and I wanted to learn something. It was really fun,” said Lara.
Success was great with many members carrying trophies home to Rappahannock County. The high school chapter even brought home three state champions— Jenny Ferdetta, Lauren Herbert, and Lara Kreyling for their SciVis project.
They explained that they made “an animation using Poser as an entertaining advertisement. We were supposed to create an animation for a purpose, to entertain, inform, and promote.”
Placing second was the Cyberspace Pursuit team consisting of Morgan Blubaugh, Bruce Flinchum, Tom Gillis, Patrick Lawrey, and Daniel Pierson. Adam Freitag and Torsten Hermansen placed fourth in Technology Challenge; Lauren Herbert fourth in Promotional Graphics, Jenny Ferdetta fifth in Promotional Graphics, and the team of Daniel Pierson, Bruce Flinchum, and Nathan Welch fifth in Film Technology.
