This senior level position reports to the Loudoun County’s Commissioner of Revenue. The Chief Deputy is responsible for day-to-day management of multiple divisions: allocating resources and developing and implementing department procedures; interpreting and applying the Code of Virginia to ensure the balanced application of local taxes; counseling prospective businesses on the tax advantages of a Loudoun location to aid economic development efforts; evaluating the fiscal impacts of proposed legislative changes to tax programs and responding to assessment appeals and defending legal challenges. Combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree and 7 years managerial experience, 3 of which must be in direct personnel supervision. Must have knowledge of Virginia’s local tax 'truciure. Public sector experience is desirable.
