In an interview, County Administrator John McCarthy said he had heard that the Lyle tract is slated for division into 50 and 100 acre lots for sale, well above the county’s minimum 25-acre regulation, “but it is quite likely at some point we are going to get a big developer come in and test our zoning.” He said the importance of the Comprehensive Plan is to have a document in force that shows a “serious effort” to set out residents’ intentions.
McCarthy said that the Comprehensive Plan completes the one “statutory” requirement of the Planning Commission, but last Wednesday, they agreed to begin urgent hearings on several key planning issues.
