Rescue Squads from Sperryville, Amissville, Washington, Castleton and Flint Hill will receive communications and emergency equipment as part of a $164,301 grant awarded to the Rappahannock Rapidan Emergency Medical Services Council. . During the 1978-79 fiscal year just ended, the Rappahannock Welfare Department spent $125,825—nearly $48,000 less than the maximum allowed in the department’s state approved budget. At last Friday’s Welfare Board meeting, social services director Elizabeth Buntin reported, that the department had also managed to hold expenditures of local money below the maximum allowed for last year. Fishing awards presented last week at the 4H sponsored day camp at Hazel River Campground went to Jimmie Freeman, George Rowland, Howard Handorf, Gregory Daczewitz, David Fisher and Jane Kid well.
