State funds
available for
agricultural
conservation

Cost-share funds recently have been released to the Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District for the Virginia BMP Agricultural Cost-Share Program. The eligible areas include Rappahannock, Culpeper, Greene, Madison and Orange counties.
Cost-share funds are available for a variety of agricultural Best Management Practices, including fencing streams, springs and ponds; installing livestock watering systems (well with pressurized troughs, spring developments, hardened stream accesses); tree planting along streams and ponds; agriculture waste systems (including dairy and poultry); grassed waterways; grass filter strips; conversion of cropland to grass; critical area seeding; as well as other BMPs.
