The dining room downstairs, a large light filled room, is part of a 1963 addition. The windows look westward to the fields and hay barn. Paintings, mostly by Rappahannock artists, fill the wall space. Robin Purnell, Tanya Richey, Geneva Welch and Martin Woodward are all represented.
The kitchen/breakfast room is part of the latest addition in 1990. It is filled with books and ceramic pieces, a collection of needlework and other interesting artifacts. A large oak hutch, with etched glass doors, built in 1896 came from Helen Williams’ home in Philadelphia.
Outside the gardens are simple and old-fashioned. One farm shed has been made into a bunkhouse for the couple’s 12 grandchildren. Stone walls, split rail fences, old fashioned garden ornaments, and the ferns and spring of the farm’s name, complete the farm scene.
