For ten years, Jones has devoted his free time to birds—first purple martins, then bluebirds and now barn owls, red-tailed hawks and kestrels. Confined to a wheelchair is not the right phrase to use in describing Pat Donavan. Pat broke his back in an automobile accident four years ago and must use a wheelchair, but he’s far from confined. A junior at the University of Florida, Pat hitchhikes in travels up and down the East Coast and recently earned his student pilot’s license at Vero Beach, Florida.
