“Up until this year she (Hutcheson) was the only one who could partner-stunt,” said Pullen. The senior’s enthusiasm has rubbed off on her teammates, which include her younger sister Courtney. Now the team has several who are stunting.
Although Hutcheson has competed at the state level and cheers for RCHS during football and basketball season, she is a bit nervous and excited about going to the Orange Bowl.
“I have never been in front of that many people before,” she said, tucking her head a bit shyly.
The Hutcheson family is very thankful to all of the sponsors who helped make this trip to Florida possible for Kelsey. Businesses from Front Royal, Warrenton and Settle’s Grocery in Rappahannock County have all chipped in to pay the $1,500 expense.
“So many people have helped me, kept me going,” Hutcheson said when talking about Pullen, her family, and her church. She is especially indebted to her stunt cheering partner, Chris Voorhies.
“Without him, I would not have been able to do any of this,” she added.
