But the heart of the film lies in an unlikely friendship that springs up between Momo and an elderly Turkish Muslim grocery store owner, Monsieur Ibrahim.
Ibrahim is played by legendary Egyptian movie heartthrob Omar Sharif who is now 71.
Sharifs portrayal of Ibrahim is considered one of the three finest performances of his entire career.
