The Rappahannock County High School assembly last Thursday had a little of everything. The foreign exchange students told about Christmas and New Year’s traditions in their countries in their own language with American friends or exchange siblings giving the English translations. The exchange students stressed similarities with American traditions, but clearly all will miss some special traditions and foods from home. Following these presentations first the school chorus and then the band offered entertainment. Announcements of the winning classroom door decorations were greeted with enthusiasm. Then the faculty put on a skit. A rousing chorus of “We Wish You a Mercy Christmas” followed, and students happily headed home for the holidays.
