outdoors to exercise, the center is adding 15 mountain bikes which will be loaned to fitness center members.
“We are also looking into working with the local Bed and Breakfast industry in the community if their guests wan to use the bikes,” said Mello.
Membership
Some community businesses have begun offering fitness center memberships to employees. Rappahannock National Bank employees were among the first from businesses in the county to have annual membership available as a benefit.
“To have fitness training opportunities locally is so nice for the county,” said bank president Mike Leake. The bank will be offering the annual membership again in 2005 and hope that all of its 20 employees take advantage of the opportunity.
Presently only about half of the bank’s employees are using the facility.
Rappahannock county employees are automatically members of the center, including deputies, teachers and all other full-time employees.
