“Quartet San Francisco” comes to The Theatre on Gay Street this Sunday, February 5, for a rare afternoon concert. The concert begins at 3 p.m. (and will be over in plenty of time for Super Bowl watchers to get home before the game begins). Each member of the Quartet has an enviable classical background, but in addition to classical music, they specialize in jazz, tangos, and good music of all kinds.
The program opens with Mozart’s beautiful Divertimento in D Major, and includes music of Dave Brubeck, Leonard, Bernstein, Frank Loesser, and many others.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students 18 and under. For reservations and full details of the program, contact the Theatre at 675-1253 or TheatreVA@aol.com
This is a busy weekend at the
I Theatre. In addition to Sunday’s concert, on Friday night, RAAC presents the film “The Constant Gardener” and on Saturday, the Washington Baptist Church presents its very popular Annual Variety Show. The Variety Show is a community event for which there is no admission charge. i
