medicine will cost as we get to the end of the year? Will I be able to afford it?

If the plan costs what I as quoted, for premium and prescriptions, my out of pocket costs per month will be about $500. I’ve not saving any money! Only the pharmaceutical companies are saving, by not providing seniors and disabled people with free medication anymore.

Next problem I encountered was that the premium was not deducted from my check. After another hour trying to talk to the company, and also having talked to social security, I was told that neither one knows when they will get this into the system. They thought by March, but also did not know if they would then take three months of premiums out of my March check. The plan did tell me though that by March, people will be three months in arrears of paying their premiums and will be dropped from the plan! I opted to send my premium for January, and was told I should do the same by February 10th if the February premium wasn’t deducted from my check. I don’t receive my February check until February 22nd, so I’m not exactly sure how I am expected to do this. They also could not tell me whether send-ing in my premium would prevent it from still being deducted from my March check. Of course, if they do deduct the payment, they will gladly refund it to me but it’ll take more than 30 days.

After I paid my bills this month, not including my rent, I had $5.24 left in my bank account. I’m not eligible for other assistance programs, like
