War Round Table meeting

The Fauquier County Civil War Roundtable’s monthly dinner meeting will be held Wednesday, February 8, at the Fauquier Springs Country Club. Everyone, members and non-members are invited and welcome.

Mr. Michael Werner will talk on the ‘The Jewish Contribution to the Civil War”

Michael lives in Yardley, PA with his wife of 30 years and their two sons. He has been with the U S. Postal Service for 29 years, and is also a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve at Newton Square with the Quartermaster corps. He has been interested in Civil War history for several years. A native of New York, Michael received his BA and MA from City College of New York in the 1970s, and another MA in military history from the American Military University in 2001 and 2004. He is a frequent speaker at Civil War roundtables in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, and Virginia.

The evening starts with a social time at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is from 7-8 p. m., followed by the program. Guests can come just for the program if they wish. Talk on Government Secrecy

Cox Newspapers’ Washington Bureau Chief Andy Alexander will speak at the Rappahannock Library February 10 at 8 p. m. on a timely and important topic: “The Threat of Government Secrecy and Your Right to Know.” The public is cordially invited and admission is free.
