BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, VIRGINIA

PURSUANT to Section 170-129 of the Rappahannock County Code and Section 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals for Rappahannock County, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at seven-thirty in the evening in the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia, in order to consider the following applications:

SU 06-01-01 Muriel R. Ortiz, owner of 7.58 acres at 589 Richmond Road, Amissville (Tax Map 42, Parcel 20, Stonewall-Hawthorne District, zoned RR - Rural Residential), desires a Special Use permit to construct a garage with a family apartment above. Use allowed under Section 170-36A of the Rappahannock County Code; Additional Standards under Section 170-62G of the Code.

SU 06-01-02 Deepthi Gadde, owner of the property located at 122 Sequoia Street in Chester Gap (Tax Map 1E-1-3, Parcel 30, Wakefield District, zoned VR-Village Residential), desires a Special Use permit to operate the property as a tourist home. Use allowed under Section 170-36E of the Rappahannock County Code; Additional Standards under Section 170-66K of the Code.

SU 06-01-03 Mountain Laurel Montessori School, contract purchasers of the property owned by Fred and Christine Moulton (35.46 acres, Tax Map 12, Parcel 49B, zoned A-Agricultural, Hampton District) known as Rock Haven Farm, 149 Bear Wallow Road, Huntly, desires a Special Use permit to operate a school for less than 25 students age 12-15 years. Use allowed under Section 170-36B of the Rappahannock County Code; Additional Standards under Section 170-63B, C and E of the Code.

No applicant or other party in interest, and no attorney for an applicant or party in interest, shall initiate a contact with a member of the BZA for the purpose of conducting a private discussion, in person or by telephone, concerning the merits of any application, appeal, or other matter pending before the BZA. No member of the BZA shall participate in any such private discussion. Site visits or similar contacts initiated by BZA members shall not constitute such ex parte contacts.

A COPY of the foregoing applications are on file at the Zoning Office in Washington, Virginia, and are available for public inspection, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Said applications will be presented to the Rappahannock County Planning Commission at their regular meeting on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at seven-thirty in the evening at the Rappahannock County Courthouse for such recommendation as the Commission may wish to make pursuant to Section 170-55, if any. The above-named applicants, adjacent property owners, and any other parties desiring to be heard should be present at said meeting or should address their written comments to the Board of Zoning Appeals, c/o PO.
