A good start
is not enough

Bob Czekaj liked the start his Rappahannock County High School varsity boys basketball team had Friday night against George Mason.
He just wished that the ending would have been different.
“We played well the first two minutes. We were winning, 1-0,” said Czekaj, after visiting George Mason handed the Panthers a 57-30 loss in Bull Run District action. “Then, they stopped being patient and running the offense. They started taking shots that were less than high percentage.”
In the next minute, George Mason scored nine unanswered points. Rappahannock never recovered.
Unfortunately for Czekaj and his Panthers, this has been the same frustrating story in every game this season. One stretch of poor shooting and defense, and the opposing team rolls onto victory.
They proved that they could do it when they run the offense,” Czekaj added. “Two timeouts later, they make one pass and take a shot. I only have five timeouts in a game. I could call five in a quarter.”
