Feb 28: Earlier spay dates
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL), in collaboration with the Shenandoah Valley Spay and Neuter Clinic, continues monthly trips to fix pets. Under this new program, costs of "fixing’ pets are reduced dramatically. Line up your dog or cat for one of the van trips to Harrisonburg and pay far less than usual for this service. The trips are made early each month, and deadlines are moving up so that more cats and dogs can be accommodated. Owners are urged to register pets and pay in person, in advance, at the RAWL shelter in Amissville. First come, first served. For further information, call the shelter at 540-937-3283 any time between 8 a.m. and 1 p. m. seven days a week.
Feb. 29: Elder Care Committee monthly meetings
This is just a reminder that the Elder Care Committee has resumed their monthly meetings. The meetings are held every fourth Friday of the month, at the Library at 1 pm, unless otherwise noted. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, and anyone with questions can contact Sharon or Chuck at the Rappahannock Department of Social Services: 675-3313. Hope to see you there!
