Our community has io6t one of her older native bom citizens in the passing of Alphaeus Cannon, which occurred at Fauquier Hospital on Tuesday, Feb. 18, two months prior to his 92 birthday. He was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery last Thursday and we extend our deepest sympathy to the family whom we’re known with friendship for many years. One unforgettable note comes to mind, as Alphaeus spoke on numerous occasions how he remembered the birth of this writer, which occurred on his parents’ farm, where her parents were living, her father being employed as farm manager and later years father, Ray Frazier, Sr., purchased a farm adjoining some of the Cannon’s land.
At this time we offer congratulations to another member of the Cannon family, Michael, who has become store manager of the Rappahannock Farmers’ Coop, replacing Nick Norman who plans to retire in March.
Mrs. Shirley Frye was honored on her birthday by her sonin-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Tharp, the event taking place Saturday afternoon in the “Party Room” of Tony’s Body Shop, with about 50 relatives and friends in attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier were dinner guests last Saturday of Mrs. Marie Atkins on Acombrook Lane and Monday they visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier on Turkey Ridge Road.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bretzm were crowned King and Queen
