The Virginia Horse Council will host its annual meeting and educational seminar at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave on Saturday, March 15, from 8 ajn. to 4 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Randel Raub of Purina Mills. The educational portion of the seminar will be broken into three tracks: trails, business management and nutrition. The sessions will run concurrently allowing attendees to mix and match topics according to their interests. In addition, a separate youth track will be offered covering such topics as horse conformation and evaluations, body conditioning, a rope tying-braiding clinic and hay evaluation. Some of the individual sessions will cover equine liability, record-keeping and tax issues, the future of trails in Virginia, body conditioning scoring and feeding the pleasure horse.
