for her, she said, as it became more difficult for her to spend the day with him at home. “One day he fell out of his chair and I just couldn't get him up. I started thinking I’d have to put him into assisted living. I really don’t want to do that, but I just couldn’t cope with him here at the house all day, every day.”
The program, open Monday through Friday, offers a wide range of services including recreation and socialization, health monitor ing, medication administration, a nutritious lunch and special therapies as needed. DayBreak serves adults 18 and older who meet the admission requirements. Daybreak accepts Medicaid, private insurance and private pay. Scholarships may also be available, and transportation is available in many areas.
With the rapid growth of the older population in the region, more and more families are experiencing a need for help caring for their loved ones.
