A grudge match is setting up for Saturday’s Rappahannock Hunt Pbint-to-Point.
The first- and second place finishers from last week’s Casanova foxhunters’ timber race are entered, along with last-fence faller Colonial Relay, plus two fresh faces to make for a top-notch feature at the Blue Rock Inn course near Little Washington.
Pbst time is 1 p.m. for the first of five races.
Casanova foxhunters’ winner Royal We headlines the 2 1/2-mile ‘chase with owner-rider Teddy Zimmerman. Runner-up Quick Line, with Kansas-based owner-rider Ralph Trail, and timber veteran Colonial Relay — a surprise faller at Casanova — join newcomers Barter Island (Bryan McDonald) and Laddie the Leprechaun (Catherine Stimpson.)
Using the new combined format for the sometimes lightly-entered Seven Corners’ owner-rider and foxhunters’ timber series events, Seven Comers competitor Jim Whitner could join the foxhunters’ race Saturday, if post entries do not fill his division.
