A consummate photographer (he recorded the mass grave sites discovered in Kosovo), avid golfer and salt water fisherman, for the past half dozen years he lived in Rappahannock County recovering from injuries that eventually cost him a leg. He loved animals and was often seen in the company of his ferocious looking but completely docile Bull mastiff, Sammy. Of all the places he lived, Rappahannock was his favorite.
He was much loved by his family and is survived by his mother Eileen Wilson of Medina, Ohio; sister Rosalyn Cromwell of Medina, Ohio, a nephew and a niece.
We enter into the world with nothing and hope to leave with a loving family and loyal friends. Steve had both.
The family wishes to thank everyone in Rappahannock Country that befriended Steve, eased his burdens and helped the many times he was hospitalized. God gave him peace and took him back into has loving arms.
Interment was at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
