The Honorable John C. Mackie* former member of the US. House of Representatives* died March 5 after a brief illness. He was elected to the 89th Congress from Michigan m 1964. at which time he moved to Warrenton with his family, where he raised registered Quarter Horses and Polled Hereford cattle.

Born June t. 1920 in Toronto* Canada. Mackie immigrated to Detroit wtth his parents in 1924 He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 1942 and an honorary LL.D. from MSU in 1965 along with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Mackie was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at MSU. He served in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater from t942~1945.
