An innovative coramunitywide effort. The Rappahannock Story Project, is in the planning stages of a three-vear effort here in the county. Ki Arts, the Piedmont Environmental Council, and the Rappahannock Public Library with the support of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors are the partnering groups for the project. An Advisory Board including representatives from each of the partners and other community leaders has been formed. The Story Project will engage a broad cross section of people in Rappahannock County to participate in story circles, dialogues and interviews asking the questions; “Who are we the people of Rappahannock? What does community mean to us? What are the challenges our community feces? What are the stories that help us envision our future in the county?" Questions used in the story collecting and interviews are selected to get more people thinking about and participating in the public process of developing the next Comprehensive Plan.
