Mar. 15: The Martin Family Band brings Celtic Music to BB&T Center
Irish eyes - as well ail others - will be smiling when the Martin Family Band takes the stage for a Saint Patrick's Day Celebration of Celtic Music at the BB&T Center for the Performing Arts March 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Their exceptional mix of instruments - hammered dulcimer, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, guitar, button accordion, piano, recorder and tin whistle - has earned them the reputation of a group that is fun lovingand a joy to hear.
‘ 'The Vault," PAL’s cash bar, will be open. Tickets are $12 for adtilts. $10 for seniors and students and $6 for patrons 12 and younger. Tickets are usually available at the door, but Performing Arts Luray recommends that patrons purchase tickets in advance. The Box Office at the BB&T Center for the Performing Arts opens 45 minutes before the start of the event. Mar. 15: Register for softball
Area girls are invited to register now for Piedmont Softball Association's 2008 sphng fastpitch softball season! All players are welcome, regardless of level of experience and skills - from beginners to advanced. Besides lots of regular season games (both on PSA's home field located on Rt. 211 in Amissville and away), other activities will include pitching clinics, tournaments (PSA is proud to have produced a number of district and state championship softball teams in recent years), home run and RBI hitting awards, and so much more. Offered for parents, as well, will be scorekeeping, umpire, and coaching clinics. Accepted will be ANY girls bom from 1989 through 2002. Registration fees are $40.00 for girls playing on any teams 12 years old or younger, and $45.00 for older players; $5.00 discount for second and additional registrants from the same household. All are invited to join Piedmont Softball Association's Sixth Annual Chili Bowl Cook-off on Saturday, Mar. 15 from 3-7 p.m.. at the Bill Payne Auction Gallery, on Route 211. Amissville.
