Signs to save lives

If you have ever driven down the highways and byways in Rappahannock County looking for an address, you probably know it is a real challenge. Many of the addresses on mailboxes might be painted on, have nonreflective black numbers on a gray or silver mailbox or may only be on the front of the box. Some residences don’t even have mailboxes.
For police, fire or rescue to quickly find these addresses in the daytime is difficult, but • nighttime is nearly impossible.
That’s why Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company has been selling reflective metal plates with house numbers for only $15.
The plates are 6” x 18” with 3” numbers. They are made of aluminum coated with highly reflective blue vinyl material with reflective numbers on both sides, are fade resistant and will last for years. They have pre-drilled holes so they can be easily screwed onto mailboxes or posts and house numbers can be easily spotted from a distance both day and night.
