Eric Kvames is stepping down as Rappnet’s
administrator As of April 29, Eric has devoted
three years of his life to the patient monitoring and objective coordination of the county’s chatterbox.
For those of you familiar with Rappahannock’s version of instant messaging, comments can be posted, read, digested and spit back out about everything from who is going to be the next president to where to find a good carpenter and much in between.
On any given day, there may be a few to a hundred posts and “clicking your comments” is a safe way to vent without having to actually confront the person - if you are being mean-spirited.
Some folks love the computer connection form of communicating. Others in the county deplore it as being a venue for diarrhea of the mouth.
But, whatever your view, administering the site is a handful and Eric has performed this task nobly for many years. His decision was not made easily as he values die Rappahannock community and appreciates the support he has received over the years. Certainly that won’t change but the hours devoted to the maintenance of the site will need to fall to another’s able hands. ' When~V6u See Eric at the Glassworks Gallery in Sperryville, take a minute to thank him for his years of service. He deserves special attention. He’s been at the helm of Rappahannock’s quick-fingered Rappnetters and his gentle and kind guidance will be missed.
