It was a budget hearing, after all. It had no right being interesting. Wherever there are budgets, there are steep-inducing budget hearings Rappahannock County has no license to be different. til® proposed school budget -for the ‘08-'09 year. They missed a show.
The five supervisors took it seriously enough to put on their coats and ties. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Robert Chappell, stood and gave his pitch for a total school budget of just over $ 12 million; or, what the National and American leagues pay for an above-average first baseman. Chappell made it clear that the proposed budget is roughly $33,000 lower than the current budget. He underlined LOWER. Twice.
