Report from Rappahannock High School Band Director Mutt Yonkey: “The kinds totaled 19 trophies and plaques, earning every ensemble, section and individual award possible! The bands were very successful while competing ugainst schools from Maine, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Virginia. The bands and distinct individuals earned highest honors in every possible category, including: Taylor Light - Concert Bund Solo Distinction Award; Ryan Benyo - Jazz Band Solo Distinction Award; Evan Espinola - Jazz Band Solo Distinction Award; Noel Johns - Best Drum Major Award; Best Marching Drumline Award; Best Jazz Rhythm Section Award; Best Jazz Woodwind Section Award; Best Jazz Brass Section Award; 1st Place Concert Band Award with a rating of Superior; 1st Place Jazz Award with a rating of Superior; 1st Place Marching Award with a rating of Superior.
