When asked why he came to a small town with the current economy, Barnes said, ■The location enables me to apply my diversified financial experience to assist the private, local entrepreneur looking for a proper exit, many of the same people with thorn I have established personal relationships."
Barnes said he has a deep admiration for the people who have started jmd run successful Main Street businesses - the gas station, convenience store, restaurant or consulting firm.
“They are what makes up the real foundational economy in my opinion,” said Barnes.
He feels that this is an area where he feels he can give back and have a positive impact throughout the next phase of his professional career.
Barnes always wanted to be able to live and work in the county. He has spent numerous years working outside of the county and now with Murphy he will have an opportunity to fulfill his goal.
He is a graduate of the Goizueta School of Business, Emory University with a degree in finance.
