It’s never been easy in Virginia. At one point, Virginia was 54th among 55 states and territories in per-capita funding for the arts. Thanks to the Virginians for the Arts, that figure has been rising. Quite simply, rural communities can not have the kind of world-class artistic opportunities we have come to expect in Rappahannock without increased public support in these difficult times.
