meaning of the word is, is.. Apparently, Mr. Jones sees truth applying only in the case of science, where it can be quantified and proven. Truth therefore is left out of the spiritual, moral realm. This is where Mr. Jones goes astray. If there is no truth other than that which can be quantified and proven, then the entire basis for morals, ethics, and even the foundation of our legal system is null and void. There can be no right and wrong without truth. Truth is the very basis of the Judeo-Christian heritage that formed our society. Previously, Mr. Jones was a member of Congress and I understand he has ambitions of returning there someday. Perhaps, we’ve just gained some insight into what is wrong in Washington. Mr. Jones should spend a day on the street asking people if they know what the meaning of the word “truth” is. Maybe then he would receive some real “learning” on the subject!
