Taylor, a junior at Rappahannock County High School, has served as assistant drum major, flautist, tenor saxophonist, and flute lesson teacher with the high school band. She also participated in the Virginia Tech Honor Band in January, and is participating in the District Honor Band this month. She also has qualified to audition for State Honor Band this month.
Taylor will join other select student musicians - chosen as one of only two applicants representing each state in the U.S. - when the Sound of America Honor Band and Chorus begins its 2009 European Concert Tour in July. Selection into the Sound of America membership is a distinguished honor for all
