Theft from a vehicle

During the overnight hours between 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2 and 6 a m. on Feb. 3, over $1,000 in tree climbing gear was taken from a truck belonging to Wolfs Tree Service which had been parked at the Forest Grove Baptist Church in Amissville. The crew had been performing tree work in the area for the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.

Taken were two sets of climbing spikes valued at $160 a pair, two red climbing saddles at $130 each, two 5/8 inch 150 foot ropes at $120 each, and two 3/4 inch 150 ropes at $180 each.

Another theft

A similar theft to the one above occurred a week later. During the overnight hours between Feb. 9 and Feb 10, a climbing rope, spikes and belt were taken from a vehicle on Court Lane in Amissville. No information was given regarding cost of the equipment, and as of this paper’s deadline, a complete report had not yet been filed.
