I he mission oi the farm tour is to present an unforgettable, educational and enriching expen ence of Rappahannock County’s agricultural wa\ ot life. The tour supports Rappahannock farmers by increasing awareness ot their i products and sustainable practices and by attracting visitors specifically interested in farms and agricultural products. Key messages are: healthy soil, sustainable agricultural practices, preservation of the landscape, stewardship ot land and wildlife Participants will offer interactive and/or learning experiences for visitors on the tour. Success of the tour depends on the commitment and involvement of the county’s agriculturally-based businesses, as well as those who sell locally-made products directly or indirectly to the consumer.

Rappahannock farmer Cliff Miller has agreed to serve as hon orary chair for the tour. The planning committee is mailing tour applications to agriculturally-related businesses and will host an informational session at The Link on Tuesday, Feb 17 at h p in . to provide complete details of the tour and to answer questions about participation. The committee welcomes everyone who may be interested in getting involved, either as a participating venue or as a tour volunteer, to attend the meeting.
