Community losses
Richard Lykes and Claudia Mitchell are two of Rappahannock County’s four arts and community treasures who have passed away in the past nine months.
Buddy Darden, an actor in the local theatre died May 13, 2008, Julie Portman, founder of Ki Theatre, on Dec. 21, 2008, Claudia Mitchell, president of the RAAC arts group, on Feb. 23, 2009 and photojournalist and arts board member Richard Lykes on Feb. 25, 2009.
