When was the last time a CEO of a corporation or the head of a state agency came to tell you how much they loved you and what you were doing?
That is precisely what happened on Tuesday when Alisa Bailey, president and CEO of the Virginia Tourism Corporation (essentially the state’s tourism board) and her staff of marketing professionals came to get a taste of what Rappahannock had to offer tourists they are luring to the state.
They also came to explain about all the resources they had to offer, from marketing and advertising, to grant writing and sponsorship, to their Web site.
The theme of Virginia tourism today is “Live Passionately, Virginia is for Lovers” and certainly, every VTC representative at the event exuded that passion. Simply talking to them was a boost to moral.
Word spread quickly about what the VTC was calling their “Help Desk” set up at The Link in Sperryville on Tuesday.
