Richard returned to the states and completed his Master’s in Government at GW in 1965.
He spent his first career in international trade and law.
Ten years ago, after another surgery and treatment (for which Roy gave a bone marrow transplant to save his brother), Richard retired to Rappahannock County.
“He loved every moment he had out there,” said Roy. “He loved Rappahannock.”
It was here that his real passion found release. Richard loved to take pictures, he found that he loved the art of photography.
As slight and frail as he may have appeared, he was a cyclopean giant, one ^ye always stuck to his forehead
