Roy said he intends to donate Richard’s computer, which contains thousands of pictures taken by Richard, to the Rappahannock County Public Library.
In addition to his identical twin brother, Roy Lykes Jr. of Silver Spring, Md., Richard is survived by his brother, Dr. Frederick Lykes of Victoria, Texas.
Funeral arrangements will be private. There will be a memorial celebration for Richard’s many friends in Rappahannock County later this spring.
Richard’s family summed up his death, paraphrasing an old hymn:
“His fight is o’er, his battle won. Now his victory has begun.”
