Let me thank the citizens that
spoke against the purchase of the Washington Arts Building for their service to the taxpayers of Rappahannock County at the recent special Board of Supervisors meeting.
There are a host of reasons that this building should not be purchased. First, as our president has informed us on numerous occasions we face an economic catastrophe, at least as threatening as the Great Depression. Given that it would be prudent to shelter-in-place until the storm passes, that would include not purchasing this property as well as not building anything on the land owned by the county.
