Master Naturalist and president of the Virginia chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation Cathy Mayes tells the story of the tragic toss of our nation's chestnut forests and what is being done, through the foundation, to restore this mighty tree to our native landscapes. March 7: Scouting
Rappahannock County Friends of Scouting will hold its annual fundraising breakfast at 8 a.m., on Saturday, March 7 at the Amissville United Methodist Church. John Kiser, a local resident, will be the guest speaker. He will discuss his new book, ‘The Commander of the Faithful: The Life and Times of Emir Abd el-Kader — a Story of True Jihad."
