Sperryville High School

On State Certified List

According to a leteer received by Professor H. B. Winfrey, from Mr. Thomas T. Hamilton, director of secondary education, State Board of Education, Richmond, Sperryville High School has been placed on the certified list of Virginia high schools.

According to Mr. Hamilton’s letter no school enrolling fewer than 75 pupils can be accredited by the State Department of Edi cation. A high school employing at least three fulltime teachers and enrolling 50 or more pupils is classified certified. This accounts for the classification of Spen’yville High School being changed from accredited to certified.

Graduates of . certified high schools are accepted for entrance to colleges in Virginia on the same basis as graduates from an accredited school.
