If you talk to a man who is a producer of commercial beef cpttlv he will tell you one thing, hut if he i^ talking to a man who is a producer of purebred dairy cattle lie will get a violent disap> cement and finally the pure bred heef man gets into the discussion and there is another opinion that is entirely different from either one of the other two. Most of those discussions end in a feeling that there is nobody who knows what the answer i^ and we might as well go home and work out our own salvation, or there is nothing we can do about it. The truth of the matter is that they are all right. The man with the purebred dairy herd is not in anything like the same position as a man with a commercial beef herd. His problems are different, his market is different, his responsibility to himself, to his herd, to his community are different. * And you must approach this thing on a sound basis and know where you are going and what road you think, or fool, is the best before you start and then, when you make up your mind, stick to it. Adult vaccination or herd vaccination is a last resort measure and should not be undertaken lightly. It should not be undertaken in a spirit of, “well I haven’t got anything to lose and everything to grain and I’ll try it.” It should not be undertaken
