Capt. Caldwell J. Stuart
Receives Appointment
Captain C. J. Stuart (MC) . USX, son of Mrs. W. M. Stuart, was recently appointed to the position of Senior Medical officer of the Receiving Station at Portsmouth,, Virginia. A picture of Capt. Stuart (MC) USX, sitting at his office desk appeared in the “Seabag,” a naval paper published in Norfolk, where he was stationed prior to his new appointment.
The following article entitled “Our New Skipper’’ was published in the March 17, 1950 edition of the Courier, which contains news of the Hospital Corps School and the United States Naval Hospital of Portsmouth, where Capt. Stuart is now stationed. Captain Caldwell J. Stiart (MC) USX, a native, of"Virginia is an alumnus of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, and received his BA and MD degrees at the University of Virginia.
A pilot in the Army Air Service during the first world war, Capt. Stuart entered the U. S. Navy in June 1923 as a lieutenant (jg) MC.
Capt. Stuart is married to the former Miss Alice Carr Williams of Rockbridge county, they have one daughter, Elizabeth, who is a student at Northwestern University.
