It is unfortunate that several of Rappahannock’s better farmers have become disgusted with corn hybrids. After delving into the WHY of this attitude it was learned (as was anticipated) to' be the result of poor quality seed offered heretofore. Praises be to local seedmen who have reported stocking adapted -CERTIFIED corn hybrid varieties.
These known merchants and the adapted certified "a^ieties they are offering affe : Lyle'Rector at Flint Hill, who has U.S. 262, and Illinois 200 in stock; Brew Bradford has Kentucky 203, Illinois 200 and U.S. 262; and Lee Thornton reports that Rappahannock Supply will have U.S. 262, Illinois 200, Kentucky 203 and Indiana 750.
Mr. Farmer, don’t buy any corn hybrid seed unless it is CERTIFIED. Thanks to our agronomy committee and the help \hey have rendered in getting a law passed on selling hybrid corn for seed ex-1 cept certified in Virginia.
